FAQ – Aneurin Advisory (Canada)

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you begin. If you have a question that is not covered here, reach out and we will answer it directly.

What exactly do you do?

We build fully operational cross-border online businesses for Canadian entrepreneurs in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta. Businesses that can sell locally in Canada, to U.S. customers, and on Amazon, all from the same structure.

This covers the complete buildout: Canadian corporation registration, U.S. LLC formation, business banking on both sides of the border, payment processing, a professionally built website, and for ecommerce clients, Amazon setup and logistics configuration.

You bring the business idea. We build the complete cross-border structure around it.

Who is this for?

This is for Canadian entrepreneurs who want to run a cross-border online business that earns in both CAD and USD, selling to Canadian and U.S. customers from one properly structured operation.

You do not need a technical background. You need a clear direction for what you want to offer and the commitment to build something serious.

We currently serve clients in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta only.

This is not coaching, a course, or a template. It is full execution, built for you by a specialist team.

What is the difference between the two packages?

Both packages are cross-border builds. The difference is the type of business you are running.

The Cross-Border Service Business is for coaches, consultants, freelancers, and anyone selling a skill or service. If your business earns through what you do rather than what you ship, this is the one.

The Cross-Border Ecommerce Business is for entrepreneurs selling physical products. It includes everything in the service package plus the product infrastructure: your online store, Amazon setup, Canadian and U.S. logistics configuration, and import/export registration.

Not sure which fits your situation? The full breakdown of what is included can be found on our Pricing page, or you can reach out and we will point you in the right direction.

What do I need before we start?

The most important thing you bring is clarity on what you want to sell or offer. For ecommerce clients, having a product or supplier confirmed before we begin makes the process faster. For example, you may have sourced products from a supplier in the U.S., China, or Canada and now need the professional business infrastructure built around it.

You will also need:

  • Valid government-issued ID
  • Proof of address
  • A credit or debit card for payments
  • A laptop for managing your business after launch

We walk you through everything else at onboarding.

How does the process work?

You choose your business direction. We build everything around it: legal entities in Canada and the U.S., banking, payments, your website, and for ecommerce clients, Amazon and logistics setup. You review and approve key decisions along the way.

You do not need technical knowledge to run the business once it is live. We train you before handover so you are confident from day one.

How much of my time does this require?

Very little during the build. You provide your documents, business details, and approvals at key stages. We manage the legal, technical, and structural execution.

The real time investment comes after launch, when you are running and growing your business.

Can you give me a real example of how this works?

Ecommerce: You have sourced a product from a supplier, perhaps in China, the U.S., or Canada, and you are ready to sell. You have inventory but no business structure around it. We register your Canadian corporation and U.S. LLC, open your business banking, configure payment for both currencies, build your product website, set up your Amazon account, and configure your logistics. You go from having a product to having a fully operational cross-border business.

Services: You are a consultant ready to work with clients in Canada and the U.S. We set up your legal entities, configure compliant payment processing for both currencies, and build your website and service infrastructure. You focus on the work. We build the business around it.

You bring what you want to sell. We build the business around it.
What are the benefits of running a cross-border online business as a Canadian?

A properly structured cross-border business gives you real market reach and financial flexibility:

  • Earn in both CAD and USD from the same business
  • Sell to Canadian and American customers simultaneously
  • Access Amazon, one of the highest-traffic ecommerce platforms in the world
  • Operate under formal legal entities on both sides of the border
  • Build a business that buyers and partners take seriously from day one

Canada sits at a natural commercial bridge between domestic and North American markets. The right infrastructure lets you use that position fully.

How is this different from hiring a web designer, accountant, or registration service?

Each of those providers handles one piece. A web designer builds a site. An accountant handles taxes. A registration agent files paperwork. None of them connect the systems, configure cross-border payments, set up Amazon, coordinate logistics, or ensure the entire operation functions together.

We build the complete business infrastructure as one integrated system. You do not have to coordinate between multiple specialists or piece it together yourself.

Why not just use DIY tools or AI software?

DIY tools and AI platforms can produce something visible quickly. What they cannot do is register your Canadian corporation, form your U.S. LLC, open your business banking accounts, configure compliant cross-border payment systems, or prepare your Amazon account. Those steps require real expertise and real execution.

A business built on a weak foundation is far more expensive to fix later than to build correctly from the start. Structure is what makes a business operate. Speed without structure is just activity.

Do you use AI to build these businesses?

No. Every business we build is custom built by a specialist team. No AI-generated assets or generic business templates.

Branding, website structure, copy direction, and system configuration are created specifically for your business. We take branding seriously because it directly affects how your business performs. Brand personality, typography, tone, and visual language are the difference between a business that converts and one that does not.

What makes Aneurin Advisory different?

Most providers are specialists in one area. We build the complete operating infrastructure of a business and ensure everything works together as a functioning whole.

We also operate a live cross-border ecommerce brand on the same infrastructure we deliver to clients. We are not theorising about what works. We are running it. That distinction matters when you are trusting someone to build the foundation of your business.

What are the limitations of this service?

We build the infrastructure. Business results after launch depend on your product, pricing, marketing, and consistency. We do not manage your business post-launch or choose your niche for you.

Import and export logistics are also the client’s responsibility. We provide setup and advisory, but day-to-day logistics operations sit with you.

We serve Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta only at this time.

What we guarantee is that your foundation is built correctly, so you are not held back by structural problems when you are ready to grow.

What do you recommend for success with this model?

Have a clear service offering or product direction before we begin. For ecommerce clients, have your supplier or product source confirmed. Be responsive during the build and engage fully during training.

The entrepreneurs who benefit most from this are those who come prepared and treat their business seriously from the start. The infrastructure is built for growth. Your effort and consistency determine how far it goes.

How long does the full setup take?

Timelines vary based on the package scope and the responsiveness of third-party agencies such as banks and government departments. We will give you a clear estimate at onboarding and keep you updated throughout the process.

What payment methods do you accept?

All payments are securely processed through Stripe. We currently accept:

  • Credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.
  • Digital wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link.
  • Buy now, pay later options such as Affirm or Klarna.

Available payment methods may vary depending on your device or checkout setup. Currency is handled automatically at checkout.

How does the payment structure work?

The complete fee is split into two payments: 50 percent to begin and 50 percent on completion of the full build. All initial fees are included.

How do I receive and access my USD earnings?

Your U.S. business bank account receives all USD payments directly. You will have both a physical and virtual debit card, so you can spend, transfer, or withdraw your USD as needed.

CAD payments from Canadian customers settle separately into your Canadian business bank account. Both operate independently and are set up as part of your build.

What ongoing costs should I expect after launch?

We do not charge any ongoing fees.

After launch, the only recurring costs are the standard operational expenses required to keep your business active, such as hosting, platform subscriptions, and annual registration renewals. These are paid directly to the service providers.

Every business we build is designed to run lean, with only the essential tools required to operate smoothly. No unnecessary subscriptions or hidden costs.

Do I own everything after the setup is complete?

Yes, completely. Every entity, account, platform, brand asset, and system is fully yours once the build is complete and final payment is received. We build it. You own it.

Can this business grow over time?

Yes. The infrastructure is built to scale with new products, higher order volumes, expanded Amazon presence, and additional marketing channels. You will not need a full rebuild to grow. The foundation supports it.

What about taxes? How does that work with a cross-border business?

Tax is the right question to ask, and we take it seriously. A Canadian cross-border business operates across two tax jurisdictions, and that requires the correct structure from day one.

As part of your build, we put the proper legal and tax structure in place for both your Canadian corporation and U.S. LLC. This includes CRA registration, GST/HST setup, EIN registration, and the foundational documentation that keeps each entity compliant in its respective jurisdiction. We also provide guidance and reference materials to help you understand your obligations on both sides of the border.

That said, we recommend that every client engage a freelance accountant who understands cross-border taxation for the long term. Not a full-time hire. Most clients only need them during tax season or when annual filings are due. The cost is typically modest and the value is significant: they handle your filings, stay current on regulatory changes, and keep your business clean in both jurisdictions.

This system is designed to be lean and operated comfortably by one person. A knowledgeable accountant working seasonally alongside you is what sustains a well-built cross-border business over time. We can point you in the right direction when you are ready.

We build the infrastructure and put the right tax structure in place. A good accountant keeps it compliant long term. Both matter.
